It's Monday 10th October 2005 and the New Shots
I went for a drive in the park in my new car this weekend. It really was wonderful to be mobile again. Beautiful zebra and giraffe in particular were the highlights of my quick spin. However, I did not have my camera as Geno has borrowed it for her trip up to meet Rod and Gus at Kutandala in the North Luangwa National Park. So instead, I thought I would share some camp photos with you.
Dana Allen is a well know photographer based in Zimbabawe. He was recently with us to take some new photos of the camps and wild life. Since our last brochure we have made significant changes to the camps and felt it was time to document them. I have copied below a selection of my favourites.
The first couple were taken at Nkwali. Our new cottage has two rooms, with the second used either as a day room for the honeymoon suite or a bedroom for families. Dinner on the deck is the perfect end to the day.
Tena Tena is where I started my career with Robin Pope Safaris and so holds a special place in my heart. This is the view from the bar which was all mine when I used to wait for the gamedrives to return in the evening – paradise. The second photo is of the honeymoon tent at Tena Tena. Spacious and wonderful for offering private dinners overlooking the lagoon.
Nsefu has not had any new building work but I love this photo of the elephants crossing in front of the camp and the second showing the view from your bed!

We can not forget Robin’s House our private house of course and also our wonderful mobile camp.
Finally – No matter what we may have done to the camps it is all about the game….Watching elies on foot or lion from a vehicle is an amazing privilege. It is after all why we all live here!
Stay well and have a great week
Cheerio
Ps – Just realised that there are no pics of Fly Camping – Debs was so busy at the time that Dana could not get in to see them and so I have put one that Paul Joynson-Hicks took last year so they do not feel left out!
