The Team
Robin Pope Safaris is a large family that you will be welcomed into. We all love where we live and what we do. The camps are our homes and we welcome you as guests and hope you leave as friends.

Nkwali
- Keyala 'Kiki' Phiri ~ the camp manager with the most infectious laugh.
- Kangachepe Banda ~ recently passing his walking license, after a couple of years guiding Kanga is a natural.
Robin's House
- Obi Mukabiko ~ over 15 years experience in the industry - our family man for Robin’s House.
Luangwa Safari House
- Jacob Shawa ~ the man with the most amazing talents and guiding.
Luangwa River Camp
Tena Tena
- Bertram Njobvu ~ is managing the camp with his cool enthusiasm which belies his cheeky sense of humour.
- Nyambe Musiyalela ~ a guide with a keen eye and wealth of knowledge.
Nsefu
- Daudi Njobvu ~ managing the camp from his presidential height.
- Sebastian Kamwendo ~ his many interests in the bush will ensure a well rounded safari experience for all.
- Braston Daka ~ with great aplomb Braston has joined the guiding team at Nsefu.
Mobiles

- Jason Alfonsi ~ leading walks with great enthusiasm, skill and laughter.
Bush Camping
- Deb Tittle ~ a top African guide with years of experience in the Luangwa Valley.
Pumulani
- Mara ~ was born in Kenya, has managed camps all over East Africa and has now come to Malawi for a bigger challenge of running Pumulani together with Chris and Emma.
- Chris ~ grew up in Malawi is warm and friendly and is passionate about the outdoors.
- Emma ~ grew up in Malawi and you will find her with her top culinary skills in the Pumulani Kitchen
At the head office:
The Management Team
- Reservations ~ Munyama Mudaala heads up our reservation team, ably assisted by: Sandra Susa, Gerald Nyirenda and Sakhile Mudaala.
- South Africa Representative ~ Geno Paringira has relocated to South Africa where she will be leading all our marketing endeavours
- Operations & Logistics ~ Emily Haynes, with plenty of experience; she’ll be making sure everything is ship shape.
- Accounts ~ Ray Mpundu, always available to help, he puts in long hours at the office.
The Directors
- Managing Director ~ Ton de Rooy, he keeps a tight eye on everything, including the cash.
- Operations Director ~ Rob Clifford, the General Manager with years of experience in the safari industry, will make sure he guides us in the right direction.
- Non Executive Director ~ Robin Pope, a bush legend, who also leads the Liuwa Plain Safaris and the new Nyika Plateau safaris.
