We set sail on 1 February for the Luangwa River and Land Safari, formerly known as River Journeys, an immersive experience in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park. Set in the heart of the Luangwa Valley, one of Africa’s last unspoiled wilderness areas, this seasonal adventure offers a rare perspective of the park during the Emerald Season.

As the Luangwa River rises, its waters spill into lagoons, flooded ebony groves and winding channels, creating a spectacular landscape best explored by boat. Stay at Nsefu Camp, Zambia’s first safari camp, where the river becomes your only access. Combining boating, wildlife viewing and an extraordinary sense of remoteness, this is South Luangwa at its most dramatic.
