Filmed in our Nsefu Sector (home to our camps Tena Tena, Luangwa Bush Camping and Nsefu); Kingdom is an extraordinary six-part wildlife series narrated by Sir David Attenborough. Shot over five years in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, it follows the dramatic lives of four iconic predators — leopards, lions, hyenas, and wild dogs — in the place where our story began nearly 40 years ago.

This project is especially close to our hearts. Filmed around our camps, we had the privilege of hosting the BBC crew throughout their journey. Working alongside filmmakers Will & Lianne Steenkamp (Leopard Legacy) and the Zambian Carnivore Programme, we’ve watched this incredible story unfold behind the scenes.

Fans will be thrilled to see the late leopard Olimba take centre stage once more, alongside Tenta’s Hyena Clan, Rita’s Lion Pride, and Storm’s Wild Dog Pack.

Explore the Luangwa Valley at its most dramatic in the Emerald Season, with the Luangwa River now flowing over into the brimming lagoons. Boating into these lagoons, flooded ebony groves and flowing channels gives you a view of the Valley which is normally inaccessible during this season.

The Luangwa River is one of the last remaining major rivers in Africa, and even in the world, that has not been damned for hydropower. This vast river still annually rises, floods into lagoons and channels, changes course and resulting in new lagoons and in so doing creates a rich flood plain river system. To be in the heart of the Park, at peak flood time, staying at the first camp built in Zambia (Nsefu) with the river being your only access, is quite an experience.

Our Mobile Walking Safaris offer one of the best wilderness experiences of the South Luangwa. Walking through the bush is a completely different experience to driving. All your senses are alert. Every sound, every movement – the flap of a bird’s wing, a tail swishing through the tall grass – acquires significance. This is where an expert guide really comes into his own. Not only will they point out wildlife and birdlife to you, but they will also teach you to hone and sharpen your senses and to spot the clues that lie around you in the bush.

Operated as scheduled set departure trips running from June to October, you are sure to get a date that aligns with your plans. The trips are set for small groups of maximum 6, keeping in line with personalised and exclusive experience as you explore the Luangwa.
