Wildlife includes large numbers of elephants, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles as well as kudu, sable, and bushbuck. A healthy population of rhinos were reintroduced by African Parks in 2019, adding on to the diversity of game found here. Predators include leopards (not frequently seen), hyena and in most recent years cheetah and lions have also been reintroduced by African Parks. As the population of both cheetah and lion start to increase, sightings are also on the rise.

I stayed at Kuthengo in Green season and had a great time. Very classy camp with excellent attention to detail and style. Amazing food and great safari activities. Great sightings of elephants for this time of year. Very friendly staff - another great Robin Pope Safaris accommodation in Malawi. 100% recommended!

We spent last weekend at Kuthengo and we're still feeling the good vibes from it! The location is spectacular - truly just as good as it looks from the photos. The tents are wonderful, and it is very private and small. It was just us and one other couple our first night. If you want to disconnect and enjoy nature, this is the place.

idnyc2019 about Kuthengo Camp
The river side tents in Kuthengo Camp on the Shire river are lovely and its brilliant falling asleep and waking up to the sound of hippos. Thanks to the team for making every effort to ensure we had the much needed canopy on the game drives, it was much appreciated. The food and hosting were great and really good fun, especially when hippos join you at the campfire for a night cap!
