At the helm of Luangwa Bush Camping is John Mphasi, who’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Starting from humble beginnings as a general worker at Robin Pope Safaris, John’s dedication and passion for wildlife quickly caught the attention of none other than Robin Pope himself! He saw potential in him and brought him into his home as a housekeeper but already knew John’s dreams extended beyond housekeeping; he aspired to become a guide!
With determination, John spent his spare time studying and learning from Robin and the other guides during evening game drives. His hard work paid off when he earned his driver’s license and officially applied to become a trainee guide. From that moment, John has never looked back, continually honing his skills and expanding his knowledge. Today, he leads Luangwa Bush Camping with a wealth of experience as well as a deep love for the wilderness.
