As the countdown begins for the reopening of John’s Camp, anticipation mounts for another season of unforgettable experiences in the heart of Africa. Nestled on a picturesque floodplain overlooking the Zambezi, John’s Camp is a hidden gem that’s open for just six months each year.Due to it’s seasonality, at the end of each season, every trace of the camp completely disappears and Mother Nature reclaims the land again for the next six months. By the time the team returns to start camp building, the site is an unrecognizable wilderness waiting to be tamed again.

For the dedicated team behind John’s Camp, the transition is a well-oiled routine honed over 16 years. Led by Tawanda and his skilled crew, the camp is meticulously reconstructed from scratch ensuring that when the first guests arrive, they step into paradise!

Once the season kicks off, John’s Camp comes alive, offering an authentic African safari that’s second to none. From seasoned travellers to illustrious figures like Sir Richard Branson, John’s Camp has hosted a plethora of people, from different walks of life who all have one goal in mind – to experience the magic of Mana Pools.
