Zambia’s top safari destinations have been combined in this safari to give an unforgettable experience which is sure to make you fall in love with this beautiful destination.

The Lower Zambezi National Park where Amanzi Camp is situated, is a key national park of Zambia, lies between the rugged and dramatic Zambezi escarpment and the wide and spectacular Zambezi River. There are many channels, lagoons, sandbanks and islands along the river and then open plains, woodland and bush areas behind the riverine strip.

Last but not least on your safari is the unspoiled South Luangwa National Park, one of the finest ‘jewels’ in Zambia’s crown, and home to one of the most varied collections of wildlife on the planet. The park is centered around the Luangwa River which is renowned for it’s pristine beauty and wildlife. Tena Tena Camp is situated in a beautiful game rich area of the park – Nsefu Sector.

Day 1 - 4: Amanzi

Situated on the banks of the Ngwenya channel is the rustic and charming Amanzi Camp. It is made up of 4 traditional, luxurious safari tents, positioned on a raised wooden deck allow for game to wonder around freely and to give you a magnificent view of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Where the Zambezi River and Mushika Flood Plain meet, is also the meeting spot for hundreds of animal species. Come morning or night, you’ll be greeted with an array of game from the comfort of your tent. Lower Zambezi is great for water-based activities and during your stay you can enjoy an array of activities such as canoeing, boating and fishing with game drives and walking as a bonus. You therefore have a full range of activities on offer for these two days; the choice is all yours. Tiger fishing (on a catch and release basis) is a must for keen fishermen.

Day 5 - 8: Tena Tena Camp

The South Luangwa National Park marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, one of the last remaining unspoilt wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. Your base here is Tena Tena Camp... this remote and small camp lies within the Nsefu Sector of the National Park on the banks of the Luangwa River. A grove of mahogany trees shades the large custom-made tents and open-air bathrooms. From the dining room and large tented bar, guests can watch the elephants, hippo and antelope on the riverbanks. Nearby there is a spectacular lagoon, Buca Buca, where a whole morning can be spent quietly sitting while the game comes down to feed and drink. The Luangwa Valley is known as the valley of leopards and renowned for its walking safaris. You will be able to explore this fully over your time here. The park has over 450 bird species, so also a birders paradise. Activities are not set in stone, so tailored to suit your interests.

Itinerary of Raw Zambia by map

The accommodation is the best I have personally stayed in during my safari. Everything ran absolutely seamlessly, and all the locations had an amazing staff compliment, delicious food and accommodation that took ones breath away! The wildlife which is what we came for, put on quite a show for us and every day was different from the previous, with so much more to see and do. Special mention to the Zambian guides who were just brimming with passion for the bush.
