“Africa changes you forever, like nowhere on earth. Once you have been there, you will never be the same. But how do you begin to describe its magic to someone who has never felt it?” – Brian Jackman.
While it’s an almost impossible task to describe the feeling one gets when on a safari with us, surrounded by breath-taking landscapes or enchanting wildlife that an African safari has to offer, photographs are a great way to bring a bit of the magic back with you, to share with others. And that’s where David Rogers comes in…
Award winning author and photographer David Rogers has been leading photo safaris with us since 2006, teaching guests to hone their photographic skills, teaching them how to use their camera equipment effectively. The trips are perfect for groups, single travellers and couples alike, and due to their small size, David is able to give personal and tailored advice thus developing everyone’s skill according to their ability and camera. You don’t have to have prior photography experience, just turn up with your camera (and some enthusiasm) and get ready for a sensory overload!
David runs two set trips to South Luangwa with us every year. His February trip is in the height of the green season, when the Luangwa wilderness has been transformed into a vibrant green wonderland! The air is crisp and free of dust, the vegetation is colourful and lush, the skies are dramatically beautiful as a result of the afternoon thunderstorms.
You will spend six nights in the South Luangwa Valley at Nkwali Camp and Nsefu Camp which are both open during the green season. Early morning starts to ensure you get the sweet morning light and late afternoon excursions to capture that quintessential African sunset. In between the game activities you will sit with David and soak up all his photography tips, tricks and advice.
The good news is we still have some space on this particular trip so get in touch with us on email !
